• running a coup to start season two and get cleo added
• joe saying that they shouldn't consider anyone under eighteen for hermitcraft in a meeting, unaware that seventeen year old mumbo jumbo is already in
• trying to understand doc saying ice hockey and doc getting more and more frustrated
• joe still thinking of himself as a new hermitcraft member, even though he's got some of the longest tenure and the other hermits going no, Joe, you're not new at all
• the time Joe fought in the civil war by letting fans at a convention swim the team star moat on his minecraft account and write a sign telling them their defences were rubbish
• the time Joe dumped lava on grian's base in a pointed lesson about learning to read signs (and not murder) (the signs couldn't stop grian because he can't read)
• the time Joe became a lich in a desperate attempt to evade cubfan's relentless pursuit
• the time when Joe dropped himself and stacks and stacks of jevin's diamonds into a lava pit trap outside jevin's front door by accident, destroying all the diamonds

since these are always fun; witch of these did *not* happen in hermitcraft

I weirdly love that there are crotchety fandom elders around who say shit like “in my day, (insert fandom term) meant this specifically, but now you kids just use it to mean any old thing.”

It seriously gives fandom such a sense of heritage and family, like yes grandma, tell me more about how you had to write fic uphill both ways in the snow when you were my age.

So there is a post circulating saying that we should credit and respect chayannes admin by calling them their real username (that was spotted early on in the tab list), and we should all start doing that.

And I just think that as a general rule you should use the name a person introduces themselves by and answers to and not the name you figured out by being nosey. If you know someone's name via the in-game equivilent of reading their mail, the respectful play here is to pretend that you don't know the name.

Come on now.

If someone wants to be known by a certain name, they tend to introduce themselves as such, and if they want to remain anonymous, it is basic manners to respect that.

ok i made this post before but i deleted it because it turned out to not be true, but NOW it is. tumblr has officially forced its shitty shitty dogshit new dashboard onto me. but i already had the dashboard unfucker installed for a different account so it's cool. mostly. anyways if you wanna remove the nasty dashboard you should first install (and enable) the tampermonkey addon which i'm pretty sure is available on most browsers, and then go to the dashboard unfucker github page, scroll down and click on "unfucker.user.js" and then click the "raw" button and it should install the script for you, and then you just gotta refresh any tumblr tabs you have open (may take a bit to load the changes!) <3 bye bye twitter-like dashboard!!! no one liked you anyway

...Anyway, I created a Userscript for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old format. This took a lot of tweaking and it's not perfect at all, but if anyone wants it I'll be uploading it soonish now!

You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:

• Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Chrome Extension
• Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome you can proceed with adding this style or any other.

To add the style, follow the instructions:

1. Go to this link: https://userstyles.world/style/11286/old-tumblr-dashboard-july-2023
2. Click on "install".
3. Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there.

Tumblr Proving Once Again That They Don't Care About the Userbase

There was an interesting post from Labs a while back that no one seemed to take much notice of but in it they stated:

"Back in June, we announced our comeback as a new team that would imagine big ideas for Tumblr—and would build them in public (aka with you)."

"An essential part of how we're working in Labs is speaking to people who use Tumblr (and those who don't use it, but could love it) pretty much on a daily basis. So we showed them this idea, and their response was indifferent at best, and confused at worst."

They mentioned Tumblr Mini, aka making your post look like Twitter posts, which they literally said here:

"It didn’t feel like Tumblr anymore. But we didn’t want to make a decision based solely on our own gut feelings… we needed to ask the Tumblr community."

So everything here about talking to users about what they want is a fucking lie because if that was the case they'd know that no one wanted the new dashboard. They want it to feel unique yet made the dash a blatant rip-off of a dying site like Twitter, which it's users are fleeing because it sucks. Do they honestly think that the best thing to do is to make Tumblr look EXACTLY like the site they're trying to get away from?

They blatantly admitted in their own post that they wanted it to be "twitter-like", let me spell it out for you @staff, @changes, @labs, WE DON'T WANT TWITTER. That's why were here in the first place.
